Both of contact and newsletter form will send email. You can't store the email in newsletter form default. If you want store email from your visitor, please use third party plugin to do it.
Also, what is the trouble you want mentioned? Maybe you can explain your problem?
So my issues is when ever I try to send a test email via Contact form, I fill out the Name/Email/Message and click send message is says "Your message has been sent" but I am unable to find that message anywhere. Same with the News letter form. Maybe I missed a step and didn't configure something somewhere.
Maybe you can ask your hosting provider and make sure they allow PHP email function in your hosting. If they not enable it, I'm afraid you will need use third party plugin and smtp to setup your contact form.
How would I configure my News letter sing up form and my contact form?
