importing XML data

I am unable to import the XML data that came with the download. I've tested the function and I can import other test data. Can I please get a copy of the single page XML data to import?

    Hello,

Please try the file from the archive from the attachment. Please note that if you have issues importing media files you can always choose not to and then add your images.

Could you turn off WP Security Audit Log and All In One WP Security and try to import the data? It seems that something isn't allowing to load the import page.

I will turn them off, but I added them after the fact. This is a completely new install, I only added those to monitor your activity on the site. One moment.

    Done

I've also tried this on another host (dev.oshcc.com) with the exact same results. I've tried different PHP versions and options for upload size and input time, nothing works.

If I grab sample XML import data from any other theme, I can import it.

No issues on our demo server: https://tppr.me/gE1nw

Could you please send us ftp login/password/url to your website as a private message? I am going to check your WordPress installation and enable WP_DEBUG.

    Best Regards,
    Jelly Team

I went ahead and turned on debugging in the wp-config.php file for you.

  • johnnyteach replied

I've verified the import fails on a completely separate host with a different instance of wordpress, and a different version of PHP, but all the XML files located at https://www.wpzoom.com/theme-demo-content/ that I test with, work fine.

  • johnnyteach replied

I thought it was the size but I used a larger one and the larger one works. I did find that if I removed some of the last half, I could get some of the content to import - so my guess is that there is an issue there somewhere.

  • johnnyteach replied

If we can not get the demo data imported, then this is where I am at:

Item is "not as described" or the item doesn’t work the way it should.

If an item doesn’t work the way it should then the author is required to promptly fix the issue by updating the item. An item is "not as described" if it is materially different from the item description or preview. If the issue can’t be fixed or it turns out that the item is “not as described” then you would be entitled to a refund from the author.

I've created many websites in WordPress so I believe I'm not making a mistake in setting this up, I've done most of the leg-work for your troubleshooting, and I know that this is not an issue with the host because I've tried multiple hosts.

Many other themes for the same price have a very quick import feature with no hassle..........

So to follow this up, something is definitely not right and I'm going to be requesting a refund if I don't hear back in the next few hours. You included the demo content for "Rebirth" in the "Murdock" package on Themeforest.

This is the section that is broken. I split the XML into multiple pieces, this section breaks the import.

Alright, after cobbling together your XML, I'm only missing two sections. Can you check the screenshot below and see if you can help me add these? Or provide a working XML to use?

Started the process for a refund, let me know if you get this fixed. It's a shame, great theme otherwise.

  • johnnyteach replied

Please refund my purchase, I downloaded a working theme and completed the project for my client, thanks.
