I just installed the template and when I click on any option on the page, a black message appears that covers the screen and does not allow me to navigate.

Please go to theme folder > js > vendor and find jquery.swipebox.min.js file. Replace it with
https://github.com/brutaldesign/swipebox/blob/master/src/js/jquery.swipebox.min.js
